Week 9 - Deadline (Workshop 2)

Tomorrow is the deadline for the Hay Festival. Our designs HAVE to have a cut line in order for the printers to register the line to cut around it so it can be stuck onto the vinyl. This process of making sure everything is of high quality (especially the JPEG format) and all the components needed to make sure that the designs were ready to print were long and tiring. After having a couple of weeks of the workshops with our tutor in I.T she helped us through difficult weeks of reaching these requirements for the illustrations. That I was definitely thankful for.
We need to take the Illustrations into photoshop and making sure everything is how it needs to be when printed, including the size of the illustration, colour, printer type, etc. After we had to export it as a TIFF file and open it in illustrator, there we would make the cut line for the trees and check that everything is working correctly.
I had 3 individual illustrations I needed to do this on, but after a long and stressful couple of weeks, my illustrations are finally ready to be printed and put up for the festival.

Below is an example of the cutline I mentioned, it is also my final design for the naturalistic trees.

The cutline shows where the printer will cut around in order for the illustration to be printed onto the vinyl.
